Rivian Issues Recall for 2025 R1S and R1T Due to Headlamp Issue
Rivian has announced a recall affecting certain 2025 R1S and R1T vehicles due to an issue with the headlamps that may impact visibility in cold temperatures. Here’s what you need to know:
What’s the Problem?
The recall was issued because one or more headlamps may fail to illuminate when the vehicle starts in cold weather conditions. This issue is caused by incorrectly configured parts from a supplier, which means the headlamps may not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108 and Technical Standards Document (TSD) 108 for lamps and reflective devices. Reduced lighting performance could lead to lower visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
It’s important to note that Rivian is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
How Will Rivian Fix the Issue?
Rivian will notify owners of all potentially affected vehicles via first-class mail, asking them to schedule an appointment at a Rivian Service Center. The repair will be performed free of charge.
