Rivian Software Update 2026.07 Improves Apple Music, Connectivity, and Cold Weather Comfort
What’s Included in the Latest update?
🎵 Apple Music Gets a Major Upgrade
Rivian continues improving the in-vehicle media experience with meaningful Apple Music enhancements:
- Dolby Audio support for richer, more immersive sound
- New Streaming Quality setting (enabled by default) to reduce buffering
- Expanded access to more playlists and albums from artist pages
- Overall stability and performance improvements
If you prefer max audio quality, you can disable the adaptive streaming setting.
📶 Stronger Connectivity Across the Board
Connectivity gets a noticeable boost in this update:
- Improved reliability for Wi-Fi, cellular, and app connections

- Fixed Lane Change on Command rejection after previous lane changes
- Updated messaging for Universal Hands-Free engagement issues
- Reduced steering wheel vibrations at highway speeds
These updates improve both confidence and comfort while using driver assistance features.
🔋 More Accurate Range & Battery Protection (Gen2)
Rivian continues dialing in battery behavior:
- Fixed issue causing range estimates to fluctuate over time
- Improved 12V battery diagnostics for better long-term health
- Enhanced system reliability to prevent rare electronic parking brake faults
🌡️ Smarter Cold Weather Comfort A small but very practical update:
- Turning on Rear Defrost now also activates the front wiper heating element
This improves visibility and convenience in cold or icy conditions.

- Resolved digital key passive unlock/start failures (Gen2)
