Rivian is once again pushing the boundaries of it's EV manufacturing. CEO RJ Scaringe recently took to social media to share an exciting update about the R2 body structure, revealing that it will feature large high-pressure die castings to dramatically simplify production.

Scaringe noted that, compared to the R1 platform, three large castings in the rear structure of the R2 will replace over 50 individual stamped parts and more than 300 joints. This shift to high-pressure die casting (HPDC) brings several major advantages:
