What’s Included in the Latest update?

A Totally Reimagined Energy App

The new Energy app gets a full makeover, making it easier to monitor both energy inflow and outflow with a clean, two-tab interface: Charging and Energy Monitor. It introduces playful Gear Guard animations and improved layout consistency across the center display and mobile app. Key features include:

  • Detailed breakdowns of charging vs. system consumption
  • Live tracking of energy use from climate, outlets, and drive systems
  • Trip-based charge targets with notifications
  • Real-time, touch-responsive graphs with cost/time estimates
  • On-demand battery preconditioning with live status banners

🚀 Faster Charging for Gen 1 Max Pack & Gen 2

Thanks to new thermal optimizations tested in both simulations and real-world conditions, Gen 1 Max Pack and Gen 2 Rivians now charge faster and more reliably—especially in a wider range of temperatures.

  • Gen 2 Large Pack: Up to 215kW charging and 15% more range in just 15 minutes
  • Optimized battery temperature regulation improves consistency and speed

🔐 Multi-Factor Drive Adds Peace of Mind

Rivian introduces a groundbreaking Multi-factor Drive feature that lets you approve every drive attempt via mobile app or smartwatch. If your vehicle is started by someone else, you’ll get an instant notification to approve or deny the session—or generate a time-based passcode for temporary access.

This is ideal for households with teen drivers or anyone seeking extra security.

🧠 Smarter Surroundings with Upgraded Visuals

Both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles now show richer representations of nearby vehicles on the driver display. For Gen 2, an upgraded onboard ML model brings:

  • Improved recognition of crossing traffic and vehicles in parking lots
  • Expanded awareness from 3 to 5 lanes in the 360º visualization system
