Rivian Software Update 2026.15 Introduces AI-Powered Rivian Assistant and Profile Security

What’s Included in the Latest update?

🤖 Meet the New Rivian Assistant

Rivian has officially launched its new AI-powered in-vehicle Rivian Assistant, giving owners a smarter and more natural way to interact with their vehicle.

Drivers can now use voice commands to:

• Adjust climate and vehicle settings
• Control navigation, music, messaging, and calls
• Ask general knowledge questions
• Get help understanding alerts or troubleshooting issues
• Reference the Owner’s Guide entirely through voice

Activation options include:

• Saying “Hey, Rivian” or “Okay, Rivian”
• Long-pressing the left thumbwheel
• Tapping the Rivian Assistant icon on the display

This marks one of Rivian’s biggest steps yet toward a more intelligent, conversational in-car experience.

If you prefer max audio quality, you can disable the adaptive streaming setting.

🧠 Rivian Intelligence Adds Personalization

Through the Rivian mobile app (v3.12+), owners can now enable Rivian Intelligence features to personalize the assistant experience.

Optional features include:

📅 Google Calendar Integration

• Create or reschedule events
• Navigate directly to appointments using voice commands
• Sync upcoming destinations automatically

💭 Memory

Rivian Assistant can now learn:

• Favorite music genres
• Preferred restaurants
• Frequent destinations like work, school, or home

Importantly, Rivian allows owners to:

• Turn Memory off anytime
• Delete stored preferences whenever desired

🔐 New Profile PIN Security

A major new security feature is also arriving: Profile Authentication.

Owners can now secure their driver profile with a:

• 4–6 digit PIN
• Phone key or Digital Key authentication

This protects:

• Personalized settings
• Driver profiles
• Vehicle access preferences

Gen2 Vehicles

• Digital key or phone key can unlock the profile

Gen1 Vehicles

• Phone key unlock supported

If authentication isn’t detected, the center display prompts for the PIN before granting full access.

🚗 Gen2 Autonomy+ Gets Smoother

Gen2 owners also receive more refinement to Rivian’s autonomy platform:

• Smoother Lane Change on Command
• More comfortable Universal Hands-Free transitions
• Better overall Autonomy+ behavior

Rivian also improved:

• Driver assistance camera defrosting
• Range estimation reliability during charging
• Passive locking reliability with multiple digital keys

📱 Better App + Infotainment Reliability

Additional improvements include:

• Faster, more reliable remote commands from the Rivian app
• Current road name now shown directly on navigation maps
• HD Radio reliability fixes
• Camping and Drive Mode graphics stability improvements
• UI color/theme mismatch fixes
